How Long Before a Revision Shows Up?

I have made revisions to the same picture, days apart, and the revised image is not showing. Is this something that just happens to some pictures or what. How long should I wait to know if it is going to change?

Normally, a revision to a stored image (using Replace or editing the image) should happen almost immediately.

What exactly (step by step) did you do?
