How much $$ for a business license?

I'm moving out of state in a couple months and was doing the research for licenses in my new area...

The city that I am moving to requires an ADDITIONAL $100 annual fine for all home businesses. This is on top of their yearly license fee of $35, plus the $40 one-time application fee. I haven't had the heart to check the county or state requirements yet.

Currently, I pay $32 for a state retail license which is good for 2 years. My county and city licenses are free.

Am I just spoiled here? Are these big fees normal?

I have one from the state, its free. Don't need a local but the other business I had required the local one and it was only $13.00 a year
