I don't believe Auctiva currently supports the Classified Ad format. However, you could create an equivalent Description section using the one-page lister and export the HTML code to the ebay one-page lister. You can do the same with the Scrolling Gallery (SG). That way you can use Auctiva's templates, picture hosting, and multi-picture capability to avoid the fees.

I don't know if Auctiva can show Classified Ads in their Store and the SG, but it appears to be a VERY IMPORTANT issue now.

It might also be a good idea to open a Support Case and ask if there is any possibilties I've overlooked.

I wish you luck.

Auctiva: These folks are obviously in REAL TROUBLE and any thoughts, suggestions, help you can provide is at least some shelter in an unprecedented storm (not of their making).
Hi ntn31969,

Auctiva does not currently support posting items in the Classified format. However, based on the changes eBay is making with respect to digitally downloaded items, I anticipate the demand for us to support this functionality will increase in the near future. I will pass along the suggestion that we support this listing format to our developers for future consideration.

Any additional questions or concerns? Please feel free to contact our customer support team using the appropriate link on our help page: http://www.auctiva.com/free-auction-software-help/help.aspx

Hi, Ragjoy.

Create a listing in Auctiva, then save it.

Go to Saved Listings, and click on the "HTML" icon to the right of your listing.

Right click anywhere in the HTML code, and then "Select All".

Now press Control and C at the same time (Copy).

Now go to your eBay listing page, and in the description area, select HTML (It's at the top of the description box.

Left click in the box, then press Control and V (Paste).

The HTML code will be pasted into the description.

Now switch back to standard editing mode, and you've got it!
Hi folks - I just the forum and this very topic is why I'm here. I think classified ads would be very valuable to all of us, right?

So gary(Ragjoy) how did the stuff from Jo Gaston-Parry work out? I did not fully follow it so, as Auctiva Mike D suggested I put in a ticket. Below is the text of my ticket. I will post the reply here when I get it. One of you correctly said, "The demand for this is going to skyrocket! I do believe you are correct and I hope a easier solution is available... if now now, soon!

Here is the text of my ticket

"On the Auctiva Community Forums, descriptions of work-arounds to use the Auctiva Lister for posting Classified Ads are a bit sketchy. I wonder if you have a beta version ready. I'd be glad to participate. If not, do you have a cut-and-paste solution that a gal from South Carolina could grasp?

In particular, I'd like to capture firstName and eMail AND provide a link to a wesite as well"

I'll pass the response on to you.

Cheers ('yall)

Support sent a nice response and a promise to send our request on the the developers. Here it is in his own words

Hello,

We do not have a Beta version of this feature available and we do not due open Beta testing for our users. There is no work around for classified adds through Auctiva but you can just create the listing in your Auctiva account and then copy the HTML of the description into the eBay lister as the HTML for the description, and that way you can still use our image hosting and templates. You can get the HTML of a saved listing by clicking on the blue <HTML> button located next to the saved listing in the saved listings folder. This button will give you a pop up with the HTML for the listings description.

BTW: How's it going for you?
Julie
