I am just wondering if I can run a test auction to get a feel for listing? And how to do so?
Sorry if this has been discussed I could not really find any info in my key word searches.

Hello,
To get a feel for using the Auctiva lister you can create a listing and click "Save". This way it will be stored in your "Saved Listings" folder and not posted to eBay.
If you post your auction, however, you will be charged the listing fee from eBay.

After you do create your saved listing, as Mike mentions, you can use the preview option to see what it will look like on eBay.
If you'd like to really see what it would look like on eBay itself, eBay does have a category for "test auctions". It's under:
Everything Else --> Test Auctions --> General
Keep in mind, you will be charged listing fees for posting in that category. But, if you keep you start price under $1 and don't add any of the eBay extras (gallery, featured, etc), you'll only pay 25 cents to test your auction.

Well, sort of. For some reason, Auctiva's listing preview takes your listing and encloses it inside a couple of borders (kind of a light blue). This eats up space and, depending on your layout, has the ability to throw your preview into a minor state of confusion, especially at a 800x600 res. Ask "carolelliot".

This is a good deal, *but* make sure you don't put an actual auction title or description in it. That's against the rules. Mark it "Test Post - Do Not Bid" or something. That's one thing that eBay watches - I found that out the hard way. One time they threatened to throw my sorry donkey out when I did that (out of ignorance).
Hey Kevin, howsabout getting rid of those blue tables or borders or whatever? It just takes a couple of snips to the ol' source code and we'll be happy.
