hi there, just playing with auctiva to drive traffic to my ebay pages so ive inserted the html into my own external website page which i thought was a great way to use it.

however when you click on the scrolling image, a new window opens to take you to that item
unfortunately the link breaks and gives a 404 error.

The html code only gives the relative path - so is this code only allowed to be used in an EBAY DOMAIN ?

ive looked in the code but nowhere to put the full path to ebay :-(

thanks v much for any help!

See the scrolling window on my page

Furthermore....to overcome the html 404 error i tried to add auctiva store to my own domain name (as a sub domain)
it asks for the domain name - i put in whitemagic.com.au and it said
error - you cant add a sub domain now, do that later ???

Is it saying that because my domain is in use already?

i tested it by putting in one of my other doms that doesnt have a site attached to it - whitemagic.net and it took that (but i dont want to use this one) - so im guessing it wants unused domain names?

thanks again for any help, i did trail through these pages but couldnt find any answers on this specific topic.
Hi white magic,

The Auctiva store window is programmed to finction specifically on eBay pages, which is why these 404 errors are generated when you click the items in the store window on your pesonal website.

However, you can make the store window finction on your external website by making a slight code change to your store window HTML. For specific information on exactly what change needs to be made, please read the following thread in our community forum: https://community.auctiva.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/255609321/m/5051012061

Hey Mike

Excellent - that worked!!!

Now the scrolling images when clicked link directly to the ebay page.

Thankyou for your quick response!
Im impressed with your service which is rare these days - so im going explore your other services.

Hoping to see a shopping cart in the future by auctiva - i like the shop and the window - excellent preview for customers!

thanks again
