I can not save custom templates.

So after you have clicked the "Select" button, you should be brought to a page that allows you to modify your layout. Did this happen? It looks very similar to the "Template Selector" page but it has an area to the left for choosing how many images you want to display and in what kind of arrangement you would like. Anyways, below the modifying area there should be a button marked "Select Template to Listing". If this is not present then there is an issue. Let us know if that helped.

Just for trying to figure this out, I signed myself out of my account and refreshed that page and bingo, the "Save Template to Listing" button was gone. This might be the case for you, meaning you have been signed out somehow, Log back in and go to that page again.
