At the risk of sounding like a Rookie, how the heck do you get an icon under your username for the discussions and message boards? And, how do you get promoted beyond "Rookie"? I HOPE it's only by a certain amount of time passing.

Click on your username in this thread, and choose to view your public profile. Then choose "Edit/View Complete Profile" (on the right side of the screen), and scroll down and choose to "edit" your avatar. You can choose a picture there.

You're correct! You receive one karma point for each post, whether you're starting a new thread or contributing to an existing one.

Hey, They're probably too busy to find them on their own, I know I was. Beside, you guys are a wealth of knowledge...right?
I guess some people are confident enough in their own names to do without the little picture!! 
Either that or so overconfident they haven't noticed the little things exist.
