I have noticed some listings on ebay with 400x300 pics, that supersize to like 1024x768.
My images once i re-size in auctiva to 400x300 will not go to a higher resolution. Am i doing something wrong? I am currently taking pictures at 640x480 then i re-size them because there too large, but i would like to be able to super size the image on ebay. Can anyone help.

Hi,

That's correct. Resizing to less resolution doesn't work in reverse. Upsizing would actually created a pixelated/blurred image. You need to create the pictures and upload at 1024 x 768 or larger for Auctiva to store an original image at the 1024 x 768 dimensions. The original stored image becomes the "supersize" image. They also store a smaller 400 x 300 that's created for you as the standard image you see for pictures with their regular views selected for stock templates. If you resize after you upload to 400 x 300, then the original image won't view at larger than those dimensions for supersize. In fact, resizing to 400 x 300 max removes the supersize link feature, as the images are already display at their maximum.

If you crop the image is it still re-sized by Auctiva to 400x300

Hi,

Yes, a 400 W x 300 H standard (max limit is to either dimension) as well as whatever the cropped image at 1024 W x 768 H (max) is created.

Example: If I crop an image to 600 W x 600 H and upload (or after upload at Auctiva), the image will store at 600 W x 600 H as the original and 300 W x 300 H as the standard. Note, the 300 H dictates the limit in this example for the stored standard image.

Not sure I follow you. You speak of a 400 X 300 as STANDARD and a 1024 X 768 as CREATED.

Which size are you uploading? And which size will be displayed when SUPER SIZED

Hi,

Upload size is limited to maximum 1024 x 768 and is stored as the Original/Supersize image. If you give the Auctiva Uploader a larger size image, it will create a 1024 x 768 (max) image and store it as the original/supersize at those dimensional limits during upload.
