for the third time in as many days, i get the following message from ebay:

There was an issue generating the Gallery picture for your listing

Either the Internet was very busy when we tried to download your picture and we could not get through, or the Web server hosting your picture is not functioning correctly. Contact your Web server administrator to make sure the server is okay.

What's up auctiva? btw these are all relists

Hi itsjustme,

Thanks for contributing to our forum. There have not been any interruptions in our image hosting service over the past few days that would explain why eBay may have been unable to create a gallery image from the image URL on file for some of your listings.

Assuming that the images in question are still active and show up in the header image area when the listings are opened, there must have been a technical hiccup on the eBay side of things that caused these errors, which seems to happen every now and then.

If the gallery images are still not showing up in these listings, you should be able to repair them using the tool that eBay has created for this purpose which you can access by clicking the following link:

I hope this helps.

Hi itsjustme,

I'm sorry to hear that you have not been able to update your gallery images in this manner. The eBay tool I referred you to is designed to force eBay to make a new copy from the header/gallery image URL that is on file with any listing and it *should* work for either of the situations that you have mentioned.

I have actually tested the the tool under both sets of circumstances personally using test listings I have posted to my own account and I have never had any problems with it, so I am not sure why your efforts have been unsuccessful.

I have also found that visiting the eBay Revise your Item form for a listing and completing the revision process without making any actual changes forces eBay to make a new copy of the provided image for display in the eBay gallery, so you may want to try that method instead.

Alternatively, if you contact eBay's customer support team about the difficulties you are having using the "Fix your Picture" tool, there may be something that can do to help you out.

-Mike
