I am new at this Forum.

I don’t understand why Auctiva does not offer the option of listing insurance options for both Domestic and International insurance. It is costing me plenty on insurance that I have to pay. Everybody knows that domestic and international insurance fees are different, so why list them at the same rate, and not give the option of listing both. I have looked on the Message Board, and I have seen a few people with the same concern, but no answers.

Ebay has gotten stricter with charging insurance. If I list the international rate and make it mandatory, it will look as if I am overcharging on insurance. If I don’t, then I really have no right to charge the customer once he has started to bid.

I can go into Ebay and change the shipping, but that is a hassle, and if someone has started to bid, I can no longer change the shipping insurance.

It is a very serious problem, and it can create unhappy clients. They want to know, why I charge for some and not for others, and I really don’t blame them.

To give the option of checking both Domestic and International insurance, and not give the option of different rates, makes no sense at all. I am sure that Auctiva does not charge the same for both.

If there is a need for a monthly fee to have a proper working listing program, I would be willing to pay a reasonable fee, in order not to have these problems.

I hope that they are willing and ready to correct this problem as soon as possible.

Best regards to all

Hi Robert,

I saw your post the other day. I couldn't figure-out if you were using the Auctiva Insurance, which is the same rate for Domestic and International. I'm guessing that's why it probably wasn't considered for separate items on the one-page lister.

I was just looking at the Auctiva Settings for Insurance, and there is a capability to separately add a mark-up for Domestic and International per $100 value. Does adding a mark-up for only International give you a work-around?

I don't know that it fixes the problem, but it might help.

Hi Danno:

Thank you for responding.

I am not using Auctiva insurance.

I did notice that the option is available if you use their insurance, but not if you use others.

I do believe that that is a very important feature, and it is creating lots of hassle for me. I have to go into ebay to change it, and if someone has already posted a bid, one can no longer change it.

I am sure that they are aware of the problem, for they have made sure that the option is available for their insurance.

I hope that it will be corrected soon, or I will have to look for other avenues. That would be a shame, for I really like Auctiva’s interface.

Thanks again for you input.

Regards
Robert
