I have a potential bidder from the UK who wants the item shipped to an address in the US if she winds. Will insurance cover the package since it will be sent to an address different than the one listed on Paypal? Thanks Suse

I think the PayPal guarantee doesn't cover it, so you'd have to buy the regular insurance. When you go to print the shipping label, you'll be notified of that. Probably the same case for US buyers who want to ship gift to a friend. I think the int'l buyers have it sent to a friend, because they can send it to UK, and it can be marked "gift". I've just started selling, but from what I've read it's worth it to sell int'l and this shipping practice is common.
It is interesting about the reason why people have it sent here. Never thought of that. But this isn't clear to me. I'm wondering if Auctiva insurance will cover this sort of shipment. What kind of proof of shipment does Auctiva require? Suse

on the idea, but....
If a buyer decides to do a charge-back (credit card) and you have no evidence that the item was shipped "per PayPal requirement" to the PayPal address (verified or not), you will lose any PayPal case immediately....NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS. If it's an expensive item, really bad idea.
You also need the buyer's cooperation in any Insurance claim process, and it is a felony to file a false insurance claim.
Does this sound like a no-win situation if the buyer is in effect, pulling a scam?
I would recommend the buyer add the US address as an alternate shipping address for eBay and PayPal. I would also use TRACKING for all shipments to aid in PayPal and Insurance claims. Tracking is cheap using PayPal shipping labels.
Hope my advise isn't too harsh. I'm just the cautious type.

Can't argue that, but most non-US or Canada buyers aren't Confirmed anyway.
I really think it's a bad idea to ship to other than a PayPal authorized address. If the buyer wants to add a US address and deal with their credit card company on the shipping issue that they authorized, I think that has a better chance than a PayPal charge-back.
I also think it makes a good play with PayPal to have done everything correct and the buyer having Insurance as the clincher.
