Hi, I noticed alot of references here to ecrater stores and am thinking of trying it. Anyone have any luck over there? I have an etsy.com store and have sold a few things but haven't put too much work into it yet. Was thinking about trying ecrater too, but how do you drive traffic to your items? I have been told that blogging is important, not sure I understand how it works though. Thanks for any advice. I just need some ebay alternatives, can't keep putting all my eggs in one basket.

Actually that's not true in my experience. I have two websites with my own domains, and also two ecrater stores. I promote them all more or less equally, but my websites' traffic is at least 100 times more than my ecraters traffic. I don't know why, but it's true. I get hundreds of hits every day on my websites. A good day on ecrater is 2 or 3 hits.
Thanks for the info. I do have my own website, but I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computers, so I have been slow to get it up and functioning. I guess my time would be better invested in that, huh? How do you drive traffic to your websites? I am a small seller, my stuff is handmade and I do OK on ebay but the fees are steep for my slim profit margin (actually not really profit, more like slave labor, but I enjoy it.) I don't have an advertising budget really, just looking for creative ideas. Thanks!
Sell wherever you can.

Set up your own domain. (if you don't know any designers or anyone who can help you do this, I do)

Set up eCrater Stores.

Set up a blujay store.

Set up an Etsy store.

Then market the heck out of them. Everywhere you can have a link....put it.

When you have your own stores, or ecrater or blujay it is up to you to market them and make sure they get out there on the wide world of the internet.

You could buy one domain name to have all your links on it so the search engines grab them...and individual sites.

If you need help...email me and I'll be glad to help.

Take care, Donna
