Listing in US from Aussie

Hi everybody, this is my first posting.
I've just filled out a listing for eBay.com. I'm in Australia.
It tells me that the error check is passed but will not list until I specify the sales tax for the US state that I'm in.
Contrary to the beliefs of some at 1600 Pennysylvania Blvd., not everybody in the world lives in a US state.
Any ideas how I get around this?

Do you have a state selected for sales tax or something? Because I don't charge sales tax and I don't have any problems. In the Checkout Options section of the one-page lister, it looks like this:
Charge [blank] sales tax for the state of [-select-]
