I've been trying since late yesterday to post several listings to my eBay store.I get the message that there is an API error and that something in my title or description may be against eBay policy. However when I run an error check on my listings they pass.Does anyone know whats going on with this? Any advice? Is anyone currently having the same problem? I thank you all in advance for any information or advice you can provide.

API Error

The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.

This is the message I'm getting when I try to post this listing.I've edited the title, description etc.I've gone through the listing and redone each preference and still no luck.Help!
Good morning,

The error check with Auctiva checks that the listing as far as the settings you have set up in your auction will go through.

Auctiva's error check doesn't include checking the the approved/not approved list of words that eBay doesn't allow in an auction title and/or description.

I'd go to Live Help on eBay. You can find the link on the home page. Ask them what specific term is NOT allowed by eBay rules and regs that you are attempting to use.

Good Luck,
Donna
Thank you for the suggestion. However I'm beginning to think my problem is not with eBay at all.I just tried posting a listing to my store that posted without a hitch yesterday just to see if it would go through and the same thing happened. The confirmation screen comes up and says that my add is scheduled to post and then the thing ends up in the schedule folder. Then when I go back a short while later to check the listing in the schedule folder the failure notice appears.Beats me!

eBay doesn't give us that list. It would make things 1000 times easier if they did.

The way our error check works is each time we find new ones we add them to our error check feature. However since they probably have 10,000 or more things that would stop a listing we have a lot to go. Smile When we find new ones we give human understandable versions of eBays completely inadequate error message too.
I don't see anything wrong with your listing other than the fact you missplelled anniversary in your listings title.

File a support case and someone can look more into the details eBay is giving about what is causing the error. Or try erasing the description down to like 1 word, then scheduling it, then revising it once it's on eBay. At that point when you go to paste in exactly the same HTML using our "Get HTML" feature you should see the error eBay gives.
