When writing up an auction, doesn't matter if I start a new one or if I import from an old existing auction, when I write up the description, open preview, my description will either show half of my text or it'll show the text from the previous auction that I imported from. I go back and double check my main description field and sure enough it's what I just wrote, it shows what I want, unlike the preview that only shows half of the description that I just wrote up or it shows the description/text from the previous auction that i just used to create this new auction I'm trying to write up. I've cleaned my PC (cleared cookies/cache), I've restarted, I've created new auctions from scratch, I've logged on/off, I restarted my pc, Ran cCleaner, I'm already using the new auctiva auction creator, I've done everything I can possibly think of and once it starts happening it doesn't stop. I've checked the html and my description text and all looks good. I walk away and go use another computer so I can stop wasting time and get some work done! Very odd but I come back the next day or so and log in and start a new auction and all is okay. If I tried doing this on the same day the problem has started, it'll not go away. I do not know what is happening to make it happen or stop. Any idea's?

Hi meadowslake,

Thanks for contributing to our forum. It is difficult to say what may be causing this behavior without reviewing some specific listings for which this has occurred and knowing which operating system and browser you are using, but there is a compatibility issue between the old description editor available in some accounts and Internet Explorer 9.0 which I have seen cause similar behavior.

If you are indeed using Internet Explorer 9.0 along with the old description editor, I suspect you will be able to resolve this issue by updating to the new description editor we are now offering called the Design Editor 2.0.

If the old description editor is enabled in your account, you can update to the new one by mousing over the “My Account” tab within your account, selecting the “Acct Preferences” option under Settings, checking the box next to “Use Design Editor 2.0” and clicking the “Update Account Preferences” button below.

We are actually in the process of phasing out the old description editor due to compatibility issues of this nature and, if you update your account to use the new description editor, it will not be possible to go back to using the old one again.

I hope this helps. If the suggestion I have presented does not quite fit your circumstances, or if you need further assistance with the issue for any other reason, please feel free to contact our Customer Support team by mousing over the “Help” tab and selecting the “File Support Case” option.

Meadowslake just my 2 cents......in case you skim this...note you can't go back to old one once you switch as Mike said.

Quite a few of us have switched mainly in hopes of fixing issues we were having and did not realize we could not go back. Many of us switching was NOT the solution to the problems we had at the time. There is another thread or two where quite some of us switched and do not like the new at all. One person suggested choice since some of us do not like the new at all, as we have had issues with it. There are features on the old that were great that are NOT on the new at all.

I am not sure what solution is...but if you have done a recent update to the IE 9.0 maybe you could test it by going back, restoring your computer to certain date this is fairly easy (hopefully before you did the update if you remember when) or back to a date that you know you were NOT having issues. That would test if that is actually your problem before switching to new.

Of course, as auctiva Mike mentioned, they are phasing it out so at some point you will not have a choice...but I for one would NEVER, EVER have switched if I had been told I could not switch back and that the new was new but not necessarily better for some of us.

I sure would not jump on the switch if you like the old one until you do a restore to previous date.

If others are on I am sure they will say don't jump until you have to!

Good luck with this, restoring back to previous date is VERY, VERY easy to test it at least.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I've already switched to the new one, weeks ago so that is not the solution to this crazy issue that I'm having. Any time i have a problem, which isn't too often with auctiva, but when i do, they always tell me one of two things... 1. clear cookies/cache and/or 2. go to new version. Neither of these are the solution to my problem. I'm now using my laptop and I'm having no issues with listing but walk back over to my desktop PC and try to list, yeah right... impossible!!! I just don't get it! Buy anyway, i wanted to thank you for giving me the heads up but I've already switched weeks ago. i do appreciate your feedback! Thanks and happy new year....
Hi Auctiva Mike, Thanks but not the solution... I've already upgraded weeks ago! I've put in a support request because I give up and I cannot continue to let this interfere with my work day. There is already not enough time in the day... i cannot keep trying to play computer tech to fix this solution. i need help, a solution, a fix.. something... please!!!
Thank you for the quick reply and trying to help! i appreciate it! Happy new year!

Hi again, I just returned to my Acct Preferences just to make certain that I am indeed using the Design Editor 2.0 and I cannot find where the check box or anything to do with the setting for using this, can't find it anywhere. I'm pretty certain that I've upgraded to this editor awhile back but I just wanted to make certain since I am continuing to have problems creating auctions. I do not know if I'm looking in the wrong area but I've read every option from the top to the bottom of the acct preferences settings and I cannot find it. Help!!! Thanks again!
