But on the listing template I only see room for 24 pictures?? Is that all that i can add? How do I go about doing it??

Yes, 24 is the limit on the one-page lister and I believe that limit carries over to use of the custom template builder.

I can think of two work-arounds.

1. Use the little Icon in the Item Description section of the one-page lister to insert pictures in the Description. It's the Icon to the left of UserLinks and is "Insert An Auctiva Hosted Image".

2. If you're handy with HTML, use one of the methods that Auctiva uses, like the Thumbnail grouping and just add more pics to the array. That would take some skill and trial and error tests to probably get it right. It's possible that might be used in combination with the Auctiva custom template builder, or you could list from ebay and just copy and paste code to their one-page lister to get it right.

How many pictures are you needing, as the Auctiva folks are always looking for requirements and enhancements?

Here's an example of one of my ended auctions with 16 Thumbnails, using the standard Auctiva template and Thumbnail group.

View: Hemingway First 49 Stories

Note, the large picture changes as you hover the cursor over each Thumbnail, or you can click to super enlarge (best of both capabilities).

To do 40, it probably makes sense to do some custom HTML coding, using that grouping and code as a template guide.

how do i find info on the thumbnail grouping and coding??

The best approach (IMO) is to export the HTML code and copy it to an HTML editor (like Microsoft Frontpage). There you could play and change until you get it correct, and move it back to Auctiva or to eBay's lister. That takes some skill and finess. I just tried a simply copy and paste, and it's doable. okay I can do that but if I copy the code it will be probably big pictures?? I would like to have a list of thumbnails so the listing doesn't get so long??

Actually, I'm suggesting you build an Auctiva listing with 24 pictures using their templates and Thumbnail approach (just like my example) on their one-page lister, and THEN use the HMTL code export feature to take the code over to an editor to add the additional 16 (or however many) pictures.

Once you've got the code correct and saved off Auctiva using an HTML editor, you can simply make the changes there for each new vehicle. I would suggest that this approach is probably best to move to ebay's lister for final listing. I'm trying to figure a way to port back to Auctiva, but that might need a custom template.

where is the html export feature??

Go to the Auctiva Saved Listings page. At the right side of the row for each saved listing there are three selectable options with the bottom labelled <HTML>. That's it. It will give you a pop-up window with all the code for the ebay DESCRIPTION SECTION that would normally appear on an Auctiva submission to ebay for that listing (minus the Scrolling Gallery).

To get the Scrolling Gallery (SG), there is a similar copy feature for its HTML on the Store tab page under the SG.

Hi, My 2 cents: I run into this a lot and find the uploading happens at a snail's pace and my 25 cents an hour rate from my ebay selling goes down to 10 cents Roll Eyes I finally deduced that it is my 10 megapixel camera that is the problem, as the photos are huge if the camera is set at high resolution. My question to Auctiva is, what is the maximum size for a photo to get the best resolution in a listing and is equal to what the uploader converts it to? This would mean I could take the original photo at a size that needs little conversion and possibly cut down the time it takes to upload them. I could also do the same test you did to find the "magic number" (GREAT idea BTW).

I am loving Auctiva so far, only other problem is that in the picture selector the default is the list view, not the thumbs. I wish there were a way to make the thumbs or the list the default, as I lose another few pennies off my dismal hourly rate waiting for the pix to convert to thumbs eeevvreerryyy time!

Also, I tried uploading to Picassa and then bringing them from there, but Picassa made them too small, and the result on Auctiva was tiny little photos. I sell jewelry, and so this is an important question for me. Thanks sooo much, Marian
