I'm trying to login to Auctiva right now & get the "General Thursday" message that the site is down for maintenance. Today is not Thursday, it is Monday & the week before X-Mas... Why, OH WHY!!! This is really screwing me up right now! Maybe I just need to leave Auctiva! There are other sites out there now offering good & alternative insurance. I'm a bit confused and really steamed right now!

At least they gave some notice this time. It would have been nice if last monday they said "Get all your work done that you have planned for next tuesday by dec 17 because we're going to take the site down for a couple of hours and you won't be able to get anything done that day. Then at least there are no surprises when someone logs on after having monday off.

I think something good will come from all this in the end though. It usually works out.
Wow, that downtime was frustrating! The Auctiva people really need to email their users with some more advance notice! At least two days notice would be greatly appreciated. We all need to plan the time we spend listing and following up on our eBay stuff; it'd be nice if Auctiva didn't surprise us by destroying our planning.

Well, I'm glad it's over -- 'til the morning extra downtime starts next.
Unfortunately, we cannot get to the change or add the photos in our listings due to shut downs. This is disaserous. For new photo's - we can use tinypic.com for this emergency - only problem there is you cannot "replace" that photo using the same url ever, and as we well know, once there is a bid on the item, we can't get into to revise the listing thorugh ebay - but have to rely on coming here to change the photo. As an artist who needs to make corrections on artwork mistakes noticed after listing the item, this is disasterous. I generally make the correction on the art, then rescan and go to activa to change the photo.
Now - we can also use photobucket.com (also free) but there is that unsightly electric bright border than surrounds your photos from photobucket that does not do at all for fine art works.

I have tried to remove the border command in html but can not find it and usually wind up deleting the photo.

Need to vent...

Foe those of us that scrambled to get work done and schedule listings, guess what... we SCRAMBLED FOR NAUGHT! Yes, the site is down... but why didn't my scheduled listings post? Are you kidding me? How many times are you going to screw with my on line business. What a huge financial loss this month, thanks to you. Time to find another image and insurance hosting site. One that I can rely on. They too will happily take my money as you do, however, I never heard of their customers thrown to the wind as you have done for the 4th time in 2 weeks! During the busiest time of the year!

Good business ethics! Obviously not found here! Venting will no longer suffice!
Hi. I can't get in and had to google to get here.

All of my tabs (home, listings, images, you know the ones) are gone... solid green except the tiny links at top right. WELL, the tabs just now showed up but don't allow access.
waiting... 11:18 am cst
keep trying ever so often. still no access.
11:40 folder tabs are gone again. Frown
12:02 tabs are back. don't work though.

YEAH!!! It's back up! Everything seems to be working, but it sure is going slow.

Talk about testing patience! Oh wait. Is that what we're talking about? Roll Eyes
Hi Shirley,

Yes, we are aware that the Auctiva website has been exhibiting some sluggish response times since it was brought back up about 30 minutes ago, and that some Auctiva stores are currently displaying a "Store Not Available" message. Our engineering team is currently working on a solution to these problems but I cannot provide an estimate of when things will return to normal as of yet.

I will post further updates on this issue to this thread as additional information becomes available. Your patience and understanding while we deal with these issues is appreciated.

Sluggish? Can't even log into the online site. A word to the wise: Auctiva cannot handle very heavy traffic. This is obvious whenever Ebay has special days like 20 cent listings. You get a much better response doing your work around midnight PST. A lot less traffic. I wouldn't even waste my time trying again to get back on today due to so many people trying to do listings at the same time. Better to set your alarm clock and get up!

The slowness is related to to our site update today. We handle the traffic fine and this is not due to the traffic. Traffic today is a lot lighter than normal actually. It's so close to Christmas that not as many buyers are going to eBay because they are afraid their item won't ship in time to be received by Christmas. It slows considerably like this every year.

There was one this past Thursday and I see 0 complaints. In fact many of the past sales days there are threads thanking us for a smooth and fast listings.
Hi Community,

Update! I just received word from our engineering department that the issues discussed earlier in this thread have been resolved, so you should now be able navigate the Auctiva website with the usual ease. The Auctiva stores that were previously displaying "Store Not Available" banners should also be available once again.

If you continue to experience sluggishness on the Auctiva website, or are having problems with your Auctiva store, please let us know by filing a support request using the appropriate link on our help page: http://www.auctiva.com/free-auction-software-help/help.aspx
