Multi-Variation - Cosmetics such as Lipstick?

Hi - not real sure I am putting this in correct location.. but will give it a stab.

Auctiva... do you know if ebay has plans anytime soon to add Multi-Variations to cosmetic items. They have some make up but I believe that is only make up or cosmetic bags.

I am referring to say: Different lipstick colors, or different makeup shades, eye shadow shades, etc.

I have asked help at ebay, but honestly their rep acts as though they do not even know what a multi-variation really is. Their first response was oh, yeah, we have that now. I then say, no you do not on makeup items. They walked me through the steps (usually in slow-mo) (like I had not checked) on how to find them. And of course, they were not there. When I asked specifically several times, they really beat the bush and act clueless that any more areas will be done. One even said, "what do you mean makeup". (eyeroll).

Thanks for any help here with this.

eBay is supposed to be rolling out more categories this year that will support the multi-variations, but no set date.

I wanted to list some variations of Burt's Bees lip balm just this last weekend, but was disappointed to see that they didn't support that category yet.

When they do add more categories, it will be super easy to have our system updated to support them too (probably the same day.)

Again Rebecca. . thanks for your help, I keep putting off listing boxes and boxes of cosmetics.

When I ask ebay they act like they are clueless and probably are...so I gave up on asking them.

At least this tell us they are rolling out. And last update ebay did on multis - auctiva did get very quickly!!

Thanks.. I always feel like since you are a multi-addict like me you keep eye on these things.

I am soooo glad you are a regular lister, because you understand some of the frustrations. . some of which are really meant for ebay, but auctiva hears about it!!

Vickie, here is a link to latest announcement that I could find eBay has made about multi-variation categories....it is from March. If you open up the multi-variation lookup tool that this announcement refers to, you can see that a bunch of health and beauty categories that have been enabled...but in 'makeup' only cat 36413 cases, bags, totes is enabled for multi-variations.

I expect that when eBay does roll out more categories, they will make a very visible announcement to users.

Tony.. any idea of a link I should use to write to ebay asking about this????

I ask on phone conversations and chats, but I could have been speaking another language, as they were not even real sure what I was asking. I guess they are subbing out to India or somewhere out there. .

I also sent in note in suggestions, but not sure if that is right place either???
