Please help, I am having a nightmare.
I have a product that I sell (60 at a time) where the buyer can choose up to three colours. 20 in one colour, 20 in another colour (or the same as the first) and 20 in another (or the same as one of the previous).
So what I need is three custom variations:
Colour of 1st 20
Colour of 2nd 20
Colour of 3rd 20
all with the same 13 colour variations.
I seem to be able to create the 1st custom variation but when I try to add a second custom variation my 1st seems to disappear.
Am I doing something wrong or is this not possible?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for posting your question here. You actually should be able to create a single multi variation listing with 3 different variations so I am not quite sure why you are running into the problem you have described here.

Once you have selected your category and clicked the "Add/Edit Variations" link, you will need to click the "Variation Generator" link near the top of the ensuing pop up window to get to the area from which you can create custom variations.

You will then need to click the "Custom Attribute" link and enter the name of your first custom variant (Colour of 1st 20) and click the "Submit" button. A box labeled "Colour of 1st 20" should then appear where you can enter the colors you have available.

At that point, you should see another "Custom Attribute" link in the "Click to select up to 5 attributes" section in the window and you should be able to click that link to create your second variant. Similarly, once you have created your second custom variant, another "Custom Attribute" link should appear that can be used to create your third.

I hope this helps. If you need any further assistance with your account, or the system is not working as I have described for you, please contact our customer support team by mousing over the "Help" tab within your account and selecting the "File Support Case" option.

Thank you for your reply. My mistake was that I was setting up the 1st colour then pressing 'Generate Variations' before setting up the other colours.
I am now able to set up the variations.
Unfortunately I cannot use it as it will only generate the first 120 variations and I need three sets of 13 variations.
Is there another way of me setting up the drop down menus?
Many thanks
Hi Simon,

Thnaks for getting back to me about this. Since you are looking to offer 13 different colour options for each variant and there is an eBay imposed maximum of 120 variations per multi variation listing, I'm afraid you would not be able to accomplish this with a multi variation listing after all.

In light of this new information, I believe the best way to go about creating a listing for this product would be to create a fixed price item and select "Lots" in the area just under where you enter the price. Once you select "Lots", you will be presented with a field where you can enter that there will be 60 items per lot.

Of course, if you go about the listing in this manner, I recommend making it very clear in your description and checkout instructions that all buyers need to let you know which colour they would like each package of 20 in the lot to be so you don't have to contact them after the sale to get that information.
