I had this same thing happen to me last week. I posted my listing during the 6:00 PST hour and they didn't show up until after about 10:00 PST, which means that everybody that searched for new listings in the evening missed my auctions. I believe that it's an eBay problem, but I could be wrong. If anybody else has an insight on this please let us know!

Hi, yes it is an ebay problem. I contacted them since a few of my items did not show up the search for over 6 hours. This seems to happen more now than it used to and they (my items)don't get any newly listed exposure when it happens. I think it's why sales are dropping as well. Ebay said it is NORMAL for listings to not appear in the search for 2 to 6 hours after they are posted. I think we are getting ripped off since 6 hours after they are in the search the items just get lost the mix. Alot of people count on the newly listed time to get attention on their items. Now I don't get the watchers or notice I used to get since they started with this search manipulating or whatever they are up to.
I've had this happen to me several times in the last few weeks. I contacted eBay, and their canned response is that it is because of the eBay database "indexing" my item. What a bunch of BS. I just had something that I listed last night that didn't show up until almost 12 hours later.

Try this folks: If you've got an item that shows up in MyEbay, but not in general searches, click on your feedback link, and then click "Items for sale", so it should bring up everything that you have for sale, minus the items that aren't showing up in searches. Do a search on this page for the item/s that should be showing up, but aren't, or you could try refreshing the page a few times. I have found that this works on more than one occasion (but not every time).
