my profiles dont save in the listing??

Hi - pls can someone help me...I have put together all my profiles and they seemt to be fine...they shohw up on the listings when i am creating them....then I save the listing...and when I go to open the listing back up it just say 'select' when the profiles are....if I do this i wipe all my listing - please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong!

When you "load" a Profile, it should embed that profile's info in the one-page lister. It doesn't save a tag on the page stating which one it loaded (and I wish it did too). However, the info should be retained on save. When you reopen or preview the listing, it should reflect the info loaded at the time the listing was created (when the select profile was done).

Hi Danno - thanks for reply...just to confirm I'm understanding you...are you saying that if I select and save a profile (say master profile) it will initially indicate it has been slected but when I save and reopen it will not display that the master profile is saved?...this is very confusing when putting together multiple listings etc...please confirm when you get a mo...thanks Olly

Yes, and I agree, it's confusing. However, the obvious basic benefit of Profiles is rapid assembly of listings with bulk-fill-ins for distinct sections. So, it's a nifty time-saver. There are some Find-and-Replace functions that also work with Profiles, e.g. Auto-Relist, so they can also be used within limits to facilitate mass changes.

Danno I am observing, and I have had the same problem, I am also new at this. What I think you are saying is that when I select a profile it automatically saves that profile's information onto that page. For Example If I load one of my shipping profiles, then my zip code will be saved onto that page. So if I save the listing then come back then I maximize the shipping section of the page I will see my zip code, but my shipping profile's name will not show in the pull down menu. Is this the way it is supposed to work or am I misunderstanding? I have had similar problems, as ally, but maybe with the better knowledge, I can figure something out.
