Hi all,
A couple notes here:
1. Tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) we'll be releasing a new version of the lister page with the same new editor to the beta site. We'll post here when this happens and hopefully you'll be able to let us know if the beta version is working or not for you.
2. Can you please try this demo of the 3rd party html editor we use, and tell us if it is usable for you?

Thanks,
-Kevin
No - the editor did not work with my Microsoft XP. For that matter I cannot seem to get your editor to work at all. What's the deal. I am having to revise every single auction item. It's not fun.
I was having problems before and I have XP..
That wasn't the problem.. If you go into a listing and click to add a link then click target then scroll to popup. But even if you don't save it with the popup it will not let you post and you have to redo the listing.
So I added a link but used new window blank and was able to list everything..
No more problems.
I don't know if that will help.
Popup uses javascript which can not be used on ebay in that form. But the editor doesn't see that you didn't put it in..

My computer locks up on me when I try to do anything with this new editor. I have to turn off my computer and restart....and that obnoxious message about "you did not turn of the computer correctly" appears and goes through the process of looking for errors (I guess).
Hope things get better before it actually is the editor we have to use.
I am really disappointed. I took a few weeks off after Christmas and now nothing works. I'm back using the Ebay lister and importing my images from here because I no longer have them on my desktop. I feel like pulling my hair out. I realize this is a free service and I feel bad about complaining. But free can be costly if it shuts down my listings. I don't understand why whatever wasn't broken before got "fixed."
This has completely shut down my business!! I have a 6-week-old baby which makes 3 children for me. I spent so many late nights getting organized BEFORE baby came. Now I have NO time to figure out how to use a new editor, much less re-create all my listings!! Sorry, but I think you have no idea how huge this is and I have to let you know!
The new editor is much easier to use, nothing to figure out a 12yr did it. You don't have to recreate your listing if you all ready had them done and saved in old editor. Just post them..
We should get things sorted out for those of you having problems. Its just a matter of time.
I am going to release a slightly modified version of our editor to our beta site later today. I'll let you all know when I do this and if you are having issues you can try this new one.
If it fixes issues for some of you we will test it some more and release it to the website sometime next week. If not, well... we'll try something else

Some good news, everything is working great, !!
The new description editor has been working all night for me with no problems. I use IE latest version.
Just thought you might want to know, when it works as well as when it dosn't .. smile
thanks

whoooopie! I haven't tried it yet, but I like the look of the description editor! There is even the facility to include fractions, which is great for us as we list British Commonwealth stamps with halfpennies etc. Thankyou!
When are you going to add Safari support? The toolbars don't show up in Safari on the Mac. I'm getting tired of using a Netscape variant to enter description information. It works, but it's too slow.
Quoted from the FCK website:
"Safari has some limits that goes beyond the editing features and that are key things to make the editor work. For now, I’m stumbling across one of the most important limits: it is not possible to load scripts dynamically (used for custom configurations, plugins and the editor code itself). I've reported this problem to the WebKit developers. You can read it here (http://bugzilla.opendarwin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4403).
I've also started some contacts with Safari's developers and introduced my intentions in their mailing list. You can find it here. They have their availability limits and priorities, so things are going slowly but I think we will have success with it. I would also like to thank Maciej for his interest on FCKeditor.
You can help use by letting Safari and WebKit developers know that this effort is important to you. It will be good for both parts, for FCKeditor to the compatibility and for Safari to be an even better browser.
And just to remember, on Mac, FCKeditor is fully compatible with Firefox, so you can use it for now."

Yes, Firefox is the way to go on Mac OS X. With Safari you can't preview your listing; that's the only problem I had with Safari.
