New to auctiva, but not to uploading pics-need help

OK, I may be new to auctiva, but I'm a pro at uploading pics, but I can't seem to get auctiva to upload multi pics at one time, nor can I get certain pics uploaded one at a time..so which is it.
1) a system "feature" within auctiva
2) a system bug
3) I need to do something different than "follow" the directions

also is the system always this slow?
