Newbie needs help with html for paragraphs

I am a new Auctiva user (but not a new Ebay seller) who used to use Vendio. I cannot figure out how to insert HTML code to make paragraphs. If I insert the code <P> into the text, what I get is <P> in the text and no paragraphs. I tried just making paragraphs, assuming that the HTML was automatic, but that didn't work either. Can someone walk me through the process from beginning to end so I can figure this out? Thanks in advance!

Hi bookshop,

First of all, make sure to click the "Text Mode" link above the design editor to switch to html mode.

Once you've done this, the <p> tag should be functional to indicate a paragraph. Once you've typed into the html editor, you can switch back to design mode to confirm the html is functioning correctly.
