okay, i only started eBay selling about a week before i signed up for auctiva -- so i'm a newbie at both!

here are a couple concerns i've come up with so far:

1. can i still post/sell directly through eBay? for instance, i like how the eBay cd selling program pulls up all the info you need about a cd by just putting in the upc ... so i'd rather do that. so can i post/sell both places without any negative impact?

2. i've read several threads about *combining invoices*, and i have never done this via eBay or Auctiva. i read in another thread to go to *Post-selling preferences* to turn on combining shipping (at eBay, right?) then to click on the last item the buyer purchased to show all the items s/he had purchased. i've done all that, but i still only see one auction and no way to combine. is this a glitch of using auctiva? (yes, i've currently got the auctiva check-out turned off.)

now, my customer is sending me a money order for the combined price of 2 items he bought, the transactions are on my sales page here, and i can't find a way to purchase *one* insurance for his combined purchases. is there one? what should i do?

can i be helped, or am i beyond it?

Hi Cherry,

#1 Yes, you can sell directly on eBay as well as on Auctiva. Down the road we will be adding the feature to enter ISBN/UPC numbers so that you can sell your CDs, books and other types of items like this through Auctiva.

One thing to note about listing on both sites, if you have Auctiva checkout turned on, items that you list through Auctiva will direct the buyers through our checkout process to purchase the item. Items posted via eBay will go through the eBay checkout process.

#2 With Auctiva checkout, a buyer can not currently combine two purchases together. We've been waiting for eBay to provide this support via their API that we use. We were told this would happen in Q3 of 2005, but have yet to see anything. If they don't add this soon, we'll have to develop our own system of combining invoices.

Yeah, you wouldn't be able to purchase insurance on the combined purchases right now. That will come as we solve #2 above... for now you'd have to purchase insurance seperately or just on one of the items.
