itsjustme...
I have a lot of SD cards so I just keep the photos on the card until these are showing on Auctiva in images, in SAVED listings and are on ebay.
I take the photos in natural light with light or dark backgrounds depending on the color of the item. So I am not doing a lot of photo editing.
It use to take me all day to work on a few photos when I first started selling. Then a long time ebay seller told me to just take extra photos as all I needed to do in most photos was to "rotate or crop" the photo. So I took around 150 photos on this last batch and I kept around 50 photos of the 150 to use for my listings.
I have mostly collectibles... mostly OOAK items... so once the item sells, I do not need the photos again. If I have more than one of the same item, then I SAVE the photo to an external hard drive too.
I never had problems like this with Auctiva Images. I have photos stored in Auctiva images that are over 2 years old. Some of these are OOAK antiques that might be rare and I just want to keep the photos for reference in case the item shows up for resale on the internet.
Also I always keep photos on a SOLD listing for over 90 days in case of a CLAIM or in case of a CHARGE BACK.
I wonder if Auctiva is up to date in their coding on the LATEST versions of Firefox and IE? For example, I was in the latest version of Firefox and the LINK to add an AVATAR was NOT there in the Community setup screens when viewed in Firefox 6.0.2
So I switched browsers and had a look using the IE 8 browser... and the LINK was in the Community Setup to add the Avatar in IE8. So obviously Auctiva did not program the Community user setup for the latest version of Firefox as there was NO "add an Avatar" link in the setup when viewing in Firefox 6.0.2
I always have BOTH browsers up when doing ebay so I can have 2 ebay ID's up at the same time. I don't remember which browser I used to upload these 54 photos last night to Auctiva but I think it was Firefox.
A long time ago I had a problem on Auctiva where I had question marks showing up in my listings on ebay when I used the QUOTE sign on the keyboard for INCHES. My ebay listing would display 6?x6?x6? instead of 6"x6"x6". Auctiva told me to switch to the FIREFOX browser to prepare my Descriptions in Auctiva... and the problem would go away. So I switched to Firefox and had no further problems at the time with QUESTION MARKS showing up in my ebay listing Descriptions.
So my point is that Auctiva might be behind in their coding if the user has updated browsers?? I have not received a reply back from Auctiva Support on the issue of Auctiva reducing the size of all my photos to 32 pixels x 32 pixels during the upload.
Also when the SAME reduction of my photos happened on the 12th... the photos were still showing in the SAVED listings after I deleted the bad photos in the IMAGE files. Auctiva said the photos would automatically disappear from the SAVE listings and that is NOT true. I had to take out all the bad photos BY HAND from the SAVED Auctiva listings too.
I checked my photos at my end... and all of my photos on my computer are still in 2618 x 2112 pixels. So the problem is NOT my photos.
So everyone should check the SIZE of their photos in IMAGES if they did an upload yesterday. I have not tried to upload photos this AM as I was waiting to hear back from Auctiva first.
But I did CLOSE the affected listings on ebay last night. I am not going to do all those loooooong STEPS Auctiva gave me to try and correct the ebay listings. I would rather launch a new listing than figure out all those various steps to correct the problem. Ha!
Is there anyone else with photo upload problems from last night?
