Listing page works fine until I get to my attempt to either post my auction or schedule it and the darn screen locks up and I have to shut down the computer. My firewall lets all pop ups come up like when I upload photos etc. Anyone else having problems? VERY FRUSTRATING!! I realize this is free but I would definitely be willing to pay $10 a month for a site like this that works.

Hello. Yes, I have been having a problem since yesterday. I get a API error saying, Either your description, location, or checkout instructions appear to have Java script in it according to Ebay. Ebay is very strict about anything that looks like it may be Java script. Try checking your description for parenthesis and try posting without them if they do exist.

I have checked and rechecked and checked again and it just keeps giving me the same error. I posted 2 other listings that were almost identical without any problems. I contacted Ebay and was told to change to Internet Explorer, so I did and it still won't post. I was using Foxfire. If there is anyone out there that might know what the heck is going on, would you please let me know. I want this posted. Thank you.
Still having the same problem posting my listing. I even relisted it and tried posting but get the same damn API error. Yes, I tried the help center and their reply was, Is your Ebay account paid. YES, I always make sure of that. Would someone at Auctiva please look into this problem I and other people are having instead of making up excuses.
I don't even remember what error message I got, but no energy - due to disability - to keep on trying.

I use IE because I read firefox is not compatible with auctiva. I have Windows XP2.

I so wish auctiva worked for me, and like others would be happy to pay an affordable fee.

It worked very well for me in the beginning, but not now - sigh. So, I listed via eBay, and paid full fees. Frown Best wishes to all!
As is noted on the boards here,

Firefox is very compatible with Auctiva and is the choice of the majority of we users.

Make sure you have the latest updated copy of FF.

The Opera browser works great.

If you have automatic updates for your IE..sometimes it's been found to have tweaks when uploaded which alter the pop ups which can block Auctiva and keep it from fully loading in some processes.

Best of Luck,
Donna
(FF and Opera User)
I am having the SAME thing on JUST ONE auction listing.. everything else i list works fine.. WTH?? This is a BIG ticket item also..

Hi u505,

If you would like to get this listing posted immediately, I recommend doing so directly through eBay.

If you would like to use Auctiva's templates and image hosting in this listing, please go to Auctiva -> Listings(tab) -> Saved Listings, check the box next to the item, and click the "Get HTML" button. Then, select all and copy the html in the window.

Once you have done this, proceed to eBay to create the listing. When you get to the item description, click the "Enter Your Own HTML" tab and paste in the copied html. This will make the listing appear exactly like the one you designed in Auctiva.

If you are able to post this listing to eBay using our html, please let us know via support case as I would like to pass this info on to our developers to take up with eBay.

I tried.. Ebay,, has some BS that says i have an "UNSAFE" method of payment.. the specified Western Union... and that is crap!! I dont have anything but Paypal and Money Orders.. I even "unchecked" this option.. so BOTH sites are screwed up.. I just tried listing a 4.00 item and it didnt post like the last one did 2 hrs ago. maybe another nite.. and the bugs will go away.. I have a form letter already filled out with auctiva and its BOOKMARKED.. and ALWAYS works.. unless auctiva is messed up.
I was having the same problem of API Error after reading the whole thread I tried going through eBay direct to sell and found out that eBay has blocked all my sales and I had to resolve some issues before I can sell the item on eBay, I took care of that and now no more Errors. I suggest doing the same ask eBay that if they are blocking listings.
Nope. I have no issues with Ebay. I just listed 3 items there with no problem. It is now 5AM and I tried another listing through Auctiva and still the same problem. I can understand problems on Sunday nights with the large volume of traffic but at 5AM there is definitely not a traffic problem. Wake me up whenever this place is fixed. CYA
Ok....after listing 3 items with 2 pictures each and getting busted for extra picture fees of 15 cents each I wanted to really give this one last try. I ran my scan/defragger/disc cleanup through IE and emptied my cache. I came back to Auctiva and tried to schedule a test auction and by golly it worked. Now I am holding my breath, keeping things arranged the same way on my desk, all fingers and toes crossed (though it makes it hard to type). This is such a GREAT site when it works. As mentioned earlier I would be willing to pay $10 or even $20 per month for a premier membership with Auctiva because it does save a ton of $$$ and also increase sales with more photos and free larger pictures. But with the intermittent outages with Auctiva I would definitely have to think about paying $10 a month. Good luck everyone.

You might try going to LiveHelp and see if they can see any reason it won't post. Maybe there is a reason but eBay isn't displaying the correct one..
Hi Community,

This issue is not related to the Auctiva product.

It was brought to our attention that eBay is experiencing technical difficulties with 3rd party listings.

The following was posted on the eBay Developers Board:

"Posted: Sep 7, 2006 11:39 AM

Description:

A large number of HTTP 502 errors and timeouts may be seen for some calls, especially for international AddItem, VerifyAddItem, ReviseItem, and RelistItem calls"

What you may or may not experience is a "hang time" for posting listings or errors when posting.

At this time, the fix on eBay end is on a TBD basis. Until then, when you see the "Posting..." message after you have posted a listing, don't attempt to repost until you see the "Did not post in time" error message.

-Mike
