Finally!
It's about time eBay is held responsible for the fencing of stolen goods.
They are not a "venue" as they claim. They control nearly every aspect of the sale and they can do much more to help police stop the sale of stolen goods.
Greed/profit do not come before the law.
"For the good of the community" as eBay likes to say when it raises fees, law enforcement must hold ebay responsible for the sale of stolen goods on it's site.
And, we're not talking some loser selling a single radio he/she stole from WalMart. There are professional criminal gangs who sell hundreds of millions of dollars in stolen goods through ebay and it needs to stop!
The fact that eBay is so loudly protesting tells you right there that they know they make a fortune selling stolen goods and they have no intention of doing anything to reduce the amount of stolen items on their site.
Here's just one example of big time theft rings using ebay to move stolen goods.
Multimillion-dollar Theft Ring is Broken
Gang stole $100 million from stores, sheriff says
"ringleaders who in turn sold the products out of two warehouses...including a long-standing eBay.com account."
http://www.theledger.com/artic.../NEWS/801250440/1039There are many more rings like this. They've busted two of them right in my little town.
It's time to put a dent in it; sorry ebay, your evil greed must be halted.
