I have a custom template. I would like to incorporate the paired images (up to 8)towards the top of the template. I can add the image tags but they are vertical. I can't seem to figure out how to make the paired option a part of the template. Is it an option that must be changed each time I create a listing by modifying the layout?

Thanks in advance Smile

Hi i-liquidate,

Thanks for contributing to our forum. In order to configure your custom template such that some or all of your images will be displayed in pairs, you will want to set up the image tags within your custom template using one of the following methods:

1) Use the [DESCRIPTION_AND_IMAGES] to specify where you would like your images to be placed within the template when it is used.

If you utilize this tag, you will then be able to set the Image Grouping to "Paired" on the Customize Layout page you are taken to after selecting the template on the lister page to make the images appear in this manner.

2) Use the appropriate individual image tags. such as [IMAGE1], [IMAGE2], etc to specify where each individual image should appear within the template and arrange them such that each set of images you would like to be paired are next to each other on the same line.

For example, if you enter your individual image tags in the following manner, the first and second images should be paired on the first line and the third and fourth images should be paired with one another on the following line:

[IMAGE1][IMAGE2]
[IMAGE3][IMAGE4]

I feel that the first method is easiest to implement but, if you go with that method, the display of your description and images where the [DESCRIPTION_AND_IMAGES] tag was placed will be limited to the Grouping and Alignment combinations that can be selected on the lister page.

If you utilize the second method that involves using a separate tag for each image, you should have complete freedom with respect to the location of each image within your custom template.

I hope this helps. If you need any further assistance with this, please feel free to contact our customer support team by mousing over the “Help” tab within your account and selecting the “File Support Case” option.

Is there a way to make the paired option a permanent part of the custom template?? I don't want to have to make this selection each time I create a listing if I don't have to. Frown
Hi i-liquidate,

While it is not currently possible to designate within your custom template HTML that the images which replace the [DESCRIPTION_AND_IMAGES] tag must always be paired, you could potentially prefill your template and Image Grouping in the lister page by building your listings from a Master profile that contains those details.

I see that you have already created a number of profiles from your account so I am under the impression that you are already familiar with how they work but, in case you need to refresh your memory, we have several tutorials that go over Profiles on the following page of our site: http://www.auctiva.com/help/tutorials.aspx

As long as you save your custom template and the desired “Paired” Image Grouping in the Item Details profile that is incorporated into your Master profile that you build your listings from, those details should automatically be loaded into the lister page any time you begin with that Master profile.
