Past Sales not showing up in Ebay search

EBAY has been majorly scuhhhrewing with search for the last 3 months. Changing, adding, deleting, tweaking (and not for the best) search dynamics.

You're right to be ticked and you're on the ball.

I don't necessarially worry about my own completed items, I worry about completed items that I need to sell a similar item for so I can get history....when I search and eBay system says...<blech>. Then what am I as the seller supposed to go by as a reference?

I sometimes use MPire Research. (a free website) for research..sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's too broad and sometimes it comes up with squat.
