Hi, Where do you store the images, which belong to the Custom Template (not the product images)?
If for example the original Auctiva Template was in: <img src="http://ti2.auctiva.com/tia/913F3/Party2_ship.gif">, How do you upload your own picture to the same directory?
Can you use "Fireworks HTML" when creating custom Template? Please let me know

Hi,

You can use your own Auctiva account or other hosting services like Photobucket for your images.

You can embed flash type elements in templates. However, you'll need to locate a site to host the flash file, i.e. eBay and Auctiva don't host those files other than the ones they use for their services, like the Auctiva Scrolling Gallery. Photobucket (Pro) and Hotlinkfiles.com are possible alternatives.

Hi Danno,

thanks for the reply. I don't want to insert any flash into template. As I am paying almost $10/month for hosting, there should be provision for template images like "description", "shipping" etc as well as those, which create part of the template. From the html of existing templates I can see that, these images live in the specific folder, which is accessible only by Auctiva people and not by users. In Dreamweaver or other Html editor I need to specify the folder address so that these images would be accessible by the template and therefore visible. I am trying to find out, what this address is, so I can upload images there and specify it in Dreamwaver. Can it be the same place, where I upload product images? If yes, what is the address and what about renaming these images by Auctiva? I have several websites hosted elsewhere, so I can upload it there if Auctiva doesn't make privision for it. Please let me know.

Hi,

Auctiva doesn't give access to their template image library for storage of custom template images. Yes, you can upload to your account's image folders and the link(s) for the individal photos are on the Image Management page. Auctiva can host gif and jpeg images under your account image storage as part of that service.

Images are stored with a folder unique to your Auctiva member account number and each image gets a unique id# and suffix for the set of original, standard, and thumb, e.g. 264124859_o.jpg / 264124859_tp.jpg / 264124859_th.jpg The link on the Management page is for the hotlink to the original / _o image. You can't assign your own file names in their system.

Hope that helps.
