I'm having a problem with my photos being pixelated. We have an SLR camera, and I never really noticed it before, but suddenly I notice that the photos look less sharp than they should on auctiva. i lowered the resolution setting on the camera, thinking the photos were just way too huge, down to like 1000 x something. but it doesn't seem to have helped at all. any thoughts on what's going on? thanks!

Hi,

Auctiva stores pictures loaded at a maximum of 1024 x 768 (original with _o in file name), so any higher resolution (either dimension) does get reduction. It's not usually a problem.

SLR cams can have some very high pixel resolutions, often in the 8 megapixel plus range. Normally, I use about 1.7 MP (yields 1496 x 1192) for standard shots I don't intend to crop, and let Auctiva reduce on upload.

What settings are you trying?

Do you have any links to problem pictures?
