Hello everyone! I've been lurking and learning alot. Haven't listed with Auctiva yet because I joined just a couple weeks ago and decided to wait until after the move.

I've searched as much as I can on the boards, but am not able to be online a whole lot right now (work and stuff). Hopefully someone here knows the answer to my questions...

Are there any plans in the works to develop a desktop program, not web-based? My isp is unreliable at best and I could sure use a desktop program so I can sign on, upload my listings, and then move on. Just hope, hope, hoping.

I tried another new service but the web-based part was torturously long. Unsubscribed when I saw how interactive this team is with the users including the CEO. Plus, I really like Jeff's style of posting. Makes me laugh out loud occasionally. Smile

I REALLY don't want to give ebay any more of my money than I have to, but SO need a desktop based program. I actually considered eblak because it is desktop based and includes auction management. Literally just found the classic site with eBud and ePoster which might help me stay away from the dark side. Are they still available to subscribe to?

I look forward to listing, and becoming an active member of the community. Wishing everyone at Auctiva a speedy and error free evening!

Hi,

Welcome to Auctiva! eBud and Auctiva Poster are still avaible for download via http://classic.auctiva.com and offer a 30 day free trial. Various supscription plans are avaialable as well if you like what you see.

The new software is web-based to offer a solution to a wider audience, regardless of operating system, firewalls, etc. Desktop applications offer better speed, but a web-based application is much easier to manage and support these days for a rapidly changing platform like eBay.

Regards,

Joe
Hi and Thanks for the welcome!

Glad to hear the classic programs are still available. I'll have to check them out.

I know you are right about an online application being much easier to handle with platforms like Ebay, but for people (like me) who for whatever reason have a slow connection, a web-based application is a slow source of frustration. Still, I'll have to see what it's like when the system is up again tomorrow. Maybe check it out at different times of day/night and maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised with the speed of Auctiva when listing. Sure hope so! Thanks for your quick answer. Smile
Thanks Jeff, I think I will download it just in case I find myself spending tons of time online and need quick upload. Another thought I had was that I'll take my laptop to the library, hook up to their high speed and upload my pictures to auctiva. That should help quite a bit, as the pics seem to drag my time online to a crawl. I just love Auctiva's showcase and want to be able to use it.
Good luck with the server move!
