Hello, I was hoping that the inventory control worked as follows:

I wanted to list an ebay item giving an initial quantity, say 50.

After so many have sold so that there are less than 10 remaining I would receive a notice from Auctiva so I could reorder more.

But it appears that inventory control does not work that way.

If I add an item with 50 pieces to the inventory and then post a listing with all 50 pieces and have a threshold of 10 I get a warning that posting will surpass the threshold.

What am I missing?

Thank you for your help.

Hello jtg1969 -

The difference between the Post and Stock thresholds is for the Stock threshold, you should receive a notification when your overall quantity has reached the level you define that let's you know to reorder that item, while the Post threshold should send you a notification when you are attempting to relist also at the level you define. So, given the information you've provided, you should have your Stock threshold set at 10 and post 40 items initially. It sounds like it is most likely that the notification you are seeing is the Post threshold, since your listing is including the total amount of your inventory for that item, so the notification is letting you know you have no other inventory available.

If you are not finding the messaging working this way, please feel free to file a support case letting us know the details of when you encounter the messages and a sample item or two where this is occurring so we can take a look into it.
