I'm a new Auctiva user.

I haven't listed anything yet.

I have many miscellaenous items to sell.

Very few items (if any) will have the same shipping weight, packaging type, or package
dimensions.

If I was someone who had 10 different products that frequently shipped individually, I can see how this 'shipping profiles' idea would be very useful.

But for someone in my position (every auction is a unique item), isn't there an easier single-form way to list items and set up their individual details for them?

Or do I have to create a new shipping profile entry (on the seperate shipping profile application screen) for each item I want to list?

Maybe you do...

And for larger operations, I can see how this seperate shipping profile tool could be very useful.

For example, you could have a shipping department packaging items (before they are auctioned) and creating the shipping profiles for each item.

Then when you go to list the item, you just select the shipping profile name that matches the item you are listing (maybe you use internal item #'s or something).

Very nice!

However, for the small guy, this many steps to create a listing kind of sucks.

Maybe auctiva could consider adding a one time use, on-the-fly shipping profile within the listing form.... and above it, they could have the drop down to load a shipping profile instead.

I don't believe that's the way I see it on my sales/auctions/IDs. (several eBay IDs)

Once you get the hang of it, you need only do about 2 or 3 profiles at most and have those set to go. Then all you have to do is the title, description, category, yada yada..but the initial info doesn't change. (cept maybe shipping costs, media, first class, priority, international, etc)

Good Luck!

Surely you don't have to create a seperate shipping profile for each unique item you're going to ship, and then use "LOAD PROFILE" to load that profile when you list each item?

No you don't have to do that.

Just enter your shipping info right on the lister page itself. You don't need to create a profile at all. If your shipping section on our 1 page lister form is minimized click the link to enlarge it and you'll see all of the shipping options you need right there on our lister page.
