umm....please explain what you did to create your PROFILE and how or what do you mean by "upload an item detail"?

when you are creating your PROFILE's, did you create EACH type of profile? meaning, did you complete a MASTER profile that has you choosing 1 each of DETAIL, CHECKOUT, SHIPPING, MARKETING and then there is the "meat and potatoes" of your TERMS OF SALE, PAYMENT, ABOUT US, SHIPPING Profiles, those are created under the SELLER DETAILS.

so you actually have 2 master "sets" of PROFILES you will be using in your auctions and each "set" has parts....

i'm not going to get too much into that so as not to confuse you if i already have. respond to let me know if you "get" what i was saying about the "2 sets of profiles" and we'll go from there. Wink

cheers,

Hi Kathleen,
I get what you man by two sets of profiles. I do not understand the need. I have not filled in any Seller Details. I have filled in a Master Profile and used it to launch two auctions. However I had to copy and paste all the info for the item description into the auction because it did not save in the Detail Profile. I look at the item Detail Profile that I saved and there is nothing there. Make sense?

hi there max,

yep, i think i get what you mean. when you created your ITEM DETAIL profile, (dumb question) did you save it and name it? then, when you created your MASTER profile, you should have chosen 1 each of ITEM DETAILS, CHECKOUT, ETC...

i just created a 'TEST' item detail and created a dummy listing and it worked just fine for me.

why don't you try this, instead of the 'MASTER' profile that includes all the parts, just manually "choose" the parts (ITEM DETAIL, CHECKOUT, MARKETING, ETC) from the drop-down menu's at the top/right of every section in your listings.

for example, at the top/right of each "section" there is a drop-down menu where you can choose your profile parts from instead of using the same master profile. have you tried loading the ITEM DETAIL profile seperately when creating your listing and then just choosing each appropriate profile section?

understand? let me know Wink thanks, kathleen
I know what you mean. I tried that and it did not work because the detail did not save my info for the item description. That is the basis of the problem. I cannot get info saved in that area. I have been cutting and pasting the info into the description and then I make changes and try to save. When I save it all the info in the item description is lost.

I Got It!
Thanks you Auctiva support.
I went into the saved profile Detail. In the item description area I clicked on one of the tools in the header that looked like a clipboard with a W on it. It is a tool to cleanup pasted Word files. I followed the following instructions and it worked the ist time but not the second time.
The 2nd time I had to add one step. I expanded the box to the full screen selection and completed the instructions...that worked. Now
I am a happy Auctiva user.

hmmmm....i'm not sure what's going wrong then? Confused i've created dummy profiles and listings and i'm saving everything just fine. i've run into the 'clean up word file' too and it ends up distorting my text...i normally just skip that or re-copy and paste it so that doesn't pop up....

it's hard trying to figure out what you're doing over "email"...it's easier to 'chat'....hmmmm, if you have spkrs/mic on your computer i'd try "chatting" with you to walk you through it....or, you could file a support case..lol.
