Question about Pricing Items

Hey there fellow Texan! It depends on what types of antiques. Furniture, dishes, etc. Best place I would start is just to google the brand name of what you have, if you know it. You will get numerous sites that have info or are selling what you might have.

Check as many online retail markets as possible. I have a spreadsheet with at least 6 sites that are selling what I am. Then I check eBay for completed auctions and see what they already sold for. Then check current (open) auctions to see what they are currently listed for. Online retail will usually be much higher than eBay so you have to come to just a general average. Takes some work but will pay off.

Thanks for your help, alot of them are kitchen utensils, and I have no idea who made them, however I will try your suggestions.

I like to use ebay itself for this. Searching current listings isn't that helpful, as fixed price listings may be under or overpriced... and auction prices often change alot in the last few hours or minutes.

You can however search for completed listings on ebay. You are only interested in what actually sold (green prices) - if it didn't sell it was probably overpriced or badly described ... or maybe no-one wanted it.

Do a search for your item - then click on the "completed listings" button on the left and hit "update search"

Find out who made your items, what they are made of etc and include this in your listing or you will not get what they are worth.
