Hi andreka72,

To revise your listing description, please go to your Auctiva active listings page, check the box next to the listing, and click the "Edit" button. This will take you to eBay's "Revise your Item" form for that listing.

Then, click "Edit Description", followed by the "Standard" tab on the descirption editor. You should then be able to see your description text within the template, at which point you can add new text by placing your cursor within the descirption area and typing away.

I hope this information proves useful.

Hi andreka72,

Are you using the Firefox browser? I have noticed an incompatibility between eBay and Firefox that causes the "Standard" tab not to appear on the description editor when viewed through Firefox.

If you use an alternate browser to revise your items, like Internet Explorer, you should be able to find this option.

I have had this same problem also and when I revise I will usually do it directly through eBay.

About .00000222223113 times out of 100 I don't get the vicious cycle, and I get the html box. this malfunction is VERY frustrating!

This IS NOT related to Auctiva.

I took my question of this pain-in-the-butt cycling problem to eBay's Powerseller board and was informed that this is a glitch in eBay's new SYI form.

I was then advised that it would be simpler and less frustrating to end my listing, re-list with my revisions and e-mail eBay for a listing credit based on this being their screw-up.

You can revise anything else easily except for the description part of the listing.

On the rare occurance of getting the text box to revise your description, it will only be available in html, so another suggestion is....brush up on your html skills.

Something else I forgot to mention, this is ALSO an eBay problem.

If you do not think your listing has posted, go to Auctiva's 'Active' tab, you should have an item number there for your particular listing, if you do not see that particular item there yet, go to my ebay and get your item number there, then click on the "Advanced Search link below the 'Search' link box...this will be in the upper right hand coner of your "My eBay Selling" page . . .when you get the Advanced Search page on eBay you will see a Search Selection box on the left ....click on "By Item Number".

On that page you will see two options below the box where you enter the item number.
One box will be to find item listing, that will take you right to your listing description page for that item.

The other box, "Find Location of Item" will take you to an eBay page that will either list all the locations of your item....this means that your item has been inserted and is available for general viewing on eBay, or you will get an eBay page that says that the item is Unavailable, either "Ended or" ...whatever, which basically means that eBay has not inserted it yet.

I have noticed a very long...HOURS long delay during the last week or so between Auctiva posting my listings to eBay, and eBay's insertion of it onto their pages.

This again is an eBay glitch, not Auctiva's!
(Lot's of activity around Christmas makes for slow everything due to high volume.)

Nowhere else in todays high tech world is the old saying "Patience Is A Virtue" more true than when it comes to eBay! Wink
