Reading only new info on forums

I just recently registered for the forums. I've been reading them for ages. Not knowing that being signed in made a difference, I kept re-reading the same items. Right after registering I noticed the icons showed what was new and unread by me. I thought I just hadn't noticed it before. Suddenly the icons showed everything unread and I was back to wasting my time reading what I had read.
Is this info posted somewhere? I could have saved many hours keeping updated.
This may should have been posted in suggestions but I would have liked to see it in Getting Started.
Another question: How can I spell check my post without losing it?

It's probably more of just that it's an expected norm to have that kind of behavior in forums.

Most forums I post on behave that way, so you just kind of expect it to work that way here as well.

There is a general help section that explains how the forums work. From the main "Auctiva Community" screen, just click on "Tools" then "Help".

Thanks biscuit. I'll check it out. This is the only forum I've ever participated in. Your helpfull replies to other posters have been a great help in answering many of my own questions.
