I have generated an ebay token like 5 times already and it keeps saying i need to do that. Is there a time period as to how long it takes to update?

Your token should work immediately.
Lately it seems alot of folks are having trouble.
I would suggest filing a support request with Auctiva, using the help button at the top of the page. Scroll down a bit and the link for support will be on the right.
