I have an aution that I ended early because I had an error in it and want to relist. How can I do this? Ebay site says relist within a certain time and get credit for the original listing. Is there a way I can modify it to correct the error and then relist it or do I have to do a brand new listing. I am going to have to set up a new template with more pictures so I guess I will need to modify it with Auctiva? Anyway, I appreciate anyones help with this! Thanks, Tina

Hi TinaK the good news is you can relist by going to your closed auctions tab. The bad news is you cannot modify the auction through Auctiva this way. However you can modify it after posting to Ebay. It is a bit involved. You need to first create the Auctiva template and item description and copy the HTML code. Then go to revise item on Ebay and select view source. Click edit on notepad and click find. Type in, Begin description ,and locate that area of the HTML. From there type in, end description ,and remove all the code including begin and end description and replace that code with the new code. Awfully involved stuff. I am unsure as to what your Ebay fees were but it may be less of a hassle to just eat the Ebay fees and list the item again.
Possibly someone else viewing this thread may have a easier solution . However to the best of my knowledge this is it

Hi Tina - What you can do is go ahead and relist, then make your changes to the active listing, which is pretty easy. If you wish to make changes within the template area (description, seller details, pictures, or the template itself), you can copy and paste the HTML from your revised listing in Auctiva to your active listing in eBay as follows:

1) Locate your listing in your Saved Listings folder in Auctiva, open it, make any necessary changes, preview, and save.
2) In your Saved Listings folder, click the <HTML> icon to the right of your listing.
3) Select all of the HTML in the popup box and copy it.
4) Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise your item" link.
5) Click the "HTML" tab on top of the Description box.
6) Select all of the HTML that's there, paste the copied HTML in its place, and save your changes.

Keep in mind that the HTML copy & paste described above only applies to the template area. If you wish to revise items outside the template (title, category, price, etc.), you need to do that directly from the ebay "revise your listing" page.

In your case, I would make all your changes in Auctiva before relisting, because once you get a bidder, you are restricted in the kind of changes you can make, so you want to be able to transfer your new HTML as soon as you relist.

Hope this helps. Smile

Woo hoo, I did it! Thanks for the help Taz and 9thWave. It actually was a little easier than you thought. I did go to my saved list in Auctiva and edited it first and then copied the HTML. When I went to Ebay to relist it, I was given the option before I even relisted to edit it, so I copied the HTML into the description there and wa la... it worked. I learn something new here everyday thanks to you specialist and whiz people! I appreciate you... Big Grin
