I have been trying to list several things using similar listing and preview and then going back to correct something. Each time I do this more and more of the html tags are repeated.

When you are using the WSYISYW editor it does this. The only way around it is to write your own code in notepad and to place the finished product in the text editor. Do not go to design mode or preview as it will throw more unnecessary coding in there.

If you need to preview your work, save your notepad document as name.html and change the file type to all files instead of text document. Once you do this , you can open the web preview by double clicking the page or just to edit open in notepad. This is the easiest way - I keep both open and whenever you save the code page refresh the web preview and it will show the updated info.

I hope this made sense.
I do the notepad thing to but I'm anal about wanting to preview before posting. What I've had to do with these recent ones is post them then add my code back in on the ebay revision. Only one out of 9 posts had the correct full code in it. Problem is that if you go back into a listing to edit, it defaults to the design mode and that monkeys around with my code. All would be fine if you could set what default view loaded.
Hi noahs wife
After hearing bargin huntress tellings about all the changes being done outside of auctiva I started using my stickies on the mac. But then I went to a practice board outside of auctiva to see how my description would look. This is a bunch of steps I would rather not do but it works. Here is the URL for two different free practice boards. http://www.e-pixs.com/practice.html and http://www.ranchoweb.com. On this one you are at the main page and in red it says go to html practice board. I hope this helps. Good Luck, Sandy
Sandy - If you use a mac those would be good options I guess, I am not familiar with Mac's, maybe someone with more experience can come along on that one.

Noah's wife - Are you using Windows or MAC? If you are on windows then using the notepad method above is what you could due to avoid having to keep putting the code into editors.

When you have the code you want to use, save the text document by saving as. Name it name.html (name being whatever you have chosen) and before you save change the drop down box with text to all files - then save.

Once you do this you can have it open as a web page in your browser and also as a text document by opening thru Notepad. Whatever is on notepad is what you will see in your browser, when you make changes to the html document save - then go to your web preview and refresh. It will show any changes you had just saved.

Doing it this way does not change the code at all. Then when you are ready to paste into Auctiva, use the text editor and save it - DO NOT GO TO PREVIEW IT THROUGH AUCTIVA. That is where it is screwing up. It should be how you want it by this point so previewing again isn't necessary.

Try this and let me know how you do.
