am new to auctiva/ebay. when i previewed my first listings, the photos were HUGE, and the enlargments were even bigger. so i edited them all and reduced the size to about 222wide. they were just i wanted for the listing! but now they won't enlarge! how do i fix this? also,
i'm pretty techno-incompetent, so i need one- and two-syllable words in non-tech language.

Hi,

Auctiva stores uploaded images at a maximum of 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels high. That's commonly referred to as the "Supersize" image. They also store a thumb version of the image and a 400 pixel x 300 pixel image that's used for the standard size seen with the different image viewers.

If an image is uploaded at or smaller than 400 x 300, there will be no supersize, i.e. it's already displaying at its largest available in the standard view.

If you pre-size the image at 222 pixels wide for upload, then that is its limit for storage and any viewing (including supersize) is 222 pixels wide image.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi,

Well, you could select the thumbnail viewer in the one-page lister's template selector. That will have a single 400 x 300 main view image with thumbnails for all the individual images, i.e. you mouse-over the thumbs and each image appears in the main viewer. I'd try this with PREVIEW and see if it's acceptable.

If that's not acceptable, you'd need to either create your own code or you could insert images in the description box and set the sizes you prefer using that sections toobar.

I'd have to know more about your specific listing needs to make a good recommendation.

Hi,

The one-page lister is Auctiva's page for creating new listings to send to eBay. Under the LISTINGS tab, select New Listing link at upper left. That will take you to the one-page lister. Scroll down the page until you see a blue box labelled Select Template. Click on the box and a pop-up page will appear, where you can select a template to use in your listing. After you select a template the pop-up page will refresh. On that page you'll see a "Grouping" drop-down selector at upper left; select "Thumbnails" and click on the "Save Template to Listing" button.

Any images you add to the listing using #1 - #24 image selection on the lister will now display on the listing using the Thumbnail Viewer.
