I am trying to list a car through auctiva but the box to put in a reserve price is highlighted grey and i can not put a price in there.
Can anyone help

I tried it on mine and it's not grayed out. You might want to file a support request. You can find it under Help, in the right hand column.

I was just thinking, you may have some urgency to getting your listing done. Auctiva's support is quick to help but I don't know when the sale is ending.
You can do this to get your listing up now.
Create it in Auctiva with your pictures and everything, preview, save, all the normal stuff to your liking.
Find the listing in Saved Listings. Capture the HTML (icon in the right column) and paste it into your eBay listing creation page like this...
At the top of the description box, be sure to open the HTML tab, select all and paste.
Preview and continue on. That should do it.
If you need any help with this or have any questions, I'll check back in an hour or so and we'll see what we can do.
