I am wasting yet more time trying to revise my templates. I have deleted the flash content and search box out. I've copied over the remaining code and the rendering is not carrying over background colors, borders or anything that makes the template look original and customized.

I did a test and sent a listing to eBay and the rendering was ugly and did not contain the table, cells, background color or borders. I also saved an entire custom template as a new one in activa by copying and pasting _all_ of the HTML, previewed it, and none template customizations are rendering. As I recall I based my customizations on an Auctiva template about five years ago? Is standard formatting considered "active content"? What am I doing wrong now that wasn't disclosed yet?

I'm sorry your having trouble. Some of the older auctiva templates, did have active content in them and may not render correctly on ebay. In addition, the older templates are based on largely based on html that are no longer supported in html5 and modern browsers (for example the "<center>" tag) and over time will not render in ways you'd expect, especially on mobile devices, which is about 42% of buyer traffic to ebay listings based on our analytics data.

The new templates are modern, mobile responsive (so your listings look great to all users regardless of the device your buyers use to view the listing), and will ensure faster rendering in all browsers/devices.
