Hi,
i don't know if this is a security risk or not but it will be really nice if auctiva can create an rss of the even log.
some people only work on weekends or other days ,and schedule there items for the next week/month and with the new relising schedule its better then ever!!!!!!!
now , if an relising/ listing schedule had an error and was not relisted , it will be really nice to find out about it on my rss reader.
also some people ( like me ) can read rss from there mobile , so you will know very fast if a listing had an error.
any way , just a suggestion .... Smile

I'm not sure if RSS supports password protected feeds or not. I just poked around in my Bloglines account and couldn't see a way to enter such data for any of my feeds.

If there isn't support for I can think of a way that would take anyone but a computer years to guess your feeds link.

The main problem here is that I think this is a feature all of like 5 people would know how to use, or would even use if they did know. Seems like a decent idea though.
Hi,
i use google screen saver to get photos from my picasa album ( which is not for the public ) , i think that this is what you thought about, making a link that looks kind of the address for this replay massage Smile
now , about my suggestion , i want kind of sad at the begging of your massage , but at the end you maid it "spark again". do you think i should accept this feature running ?
thanks for your massage never the less.
Hi,
i don't know / use bloglines , but after reading you comment , i made a little research about password protected rss , and find out some thing you might like ( this has nothing to do with my suggestion but still...) this is a quote i found in a couple of web sites:

"...
It works this way: You subscribe to the feed in Bloglines, passing the username and password in the URL in this:
http://[username]:[password]@[domain]/[path]
For example:
http://me%40foo.com:xYz@www.example.com/xml/rss.xml
..."

i think it's more a security risk then a random generated long link , but thats just me.

again , thanks a lot for this great product , support , and updating and a happy Christmases to you and your family.

That is an HTTP thing that can be used for any site. Since your userid and password would be in the URL it's not exactly the safest. We could probably do that and generate a special rss only password which could only be used to view the rss feed.

I think we'll take a wait and see on this until a few more of our customers adopt RSS. I like the idea, I just see this being used by a tiny amount of people so the development time could be better spent on features more people would use.
