Hi! Im a newbie and rather computer illiterate (sort of) ... now that I have approx 500 items listed and scheduled for future post, I worry that some crazy computer glitch will wipe out my listings! (yep, Im worried now!) Can someone please tell me an easy way to save this data? I run windows XP ... THANKS!

Hi - As long as your listings have been saved on Auctiva's servers, and backed up there, they should be as "safe" as you can make them - certainly as safe, or safer, than they would be on your own computer. Now if your computer gets swiped, or has a meltdown, or your backup media gets fried, your stuff will still be safely tucked away on Auctiva's gear, ready to be accessed the next time you log on. Not a bad deal.
Hi emmabluewho, to expand on ninth's reply, you appear as a relative stranger to computer techie stuff so what you may not have realised is why your listings are actually on Auctiva and not on your PC. This is because you are creating your listings directly on Auctiva's machines and not yours.

You are using your PC as the tool via Internet Explorer and the internet to access Auctiva's listing editing tools on their machines. So when you save your listing from Auctiva's on-line editors then you are actually saving it at Auctiva.

They like any large computer based company will have significantly beter backup and data safety measures in place than individuals like us can afford to implement.

Their current and future $$$ depends on it. Smile
thanks SO MUCH, ninth and choochoo! You are correct on all counts (and kind in your phrasing too!) ... I appreciate your wisdom and expertise ~ as Im sure you can appreciate the time invested listing more than 500 different items for future post and my fear of their loss to the great abyss! I do like Auctiva and will continue to view your community boards! Thanks again ever so much!
