I have heard mixed things. I am fairly new at selling and would like to know if you find that scrolling gallery helps get more sales or distracts and changes the mind or the potential buyer because they get their mind off what they came looking for in the beginning.

I would love to hear what some of your experience have been.

I honestly believe the Store Window, whether the Scrolling Gallery or one of the other flavors like the new Wall, has benefit. However, I also believe it's what you are selling and how you are selling it that makes it useful.

If you have promotions and discounts (like shipping) with combined sales, it's certainly an "eye candy" method to get a buyer interested to buy more. Certain nitches, like clothing and accessories sales, obviously have that potential.

Buyers want bargains or wouldn't be at eBay. Bargains in the new paradigm of fixed price are more likely obtained in the promotion and discount ties with sales. The SG use to help by showing other items ending soon for Auction sales and getting a bidder to move to the next items (possibly same). With auctions burried and the site operation a mismatch to that format, the gallery is better pointed to what else you have to BUY with the item under interest. That's why discount and promotions (to me) make sense.

Hi Lois,

You're welcome.

The only factors that may have my Firefox working are my recent upgrade to the latest 3.0.5 release (last month) and my consistent upgrade to new releases of Java (also last month). I did just recently uninstall all my prior releases of Java for cleanup. I'm a very heavy user of Java and do subscribe and take update rolls immediatly after they are available.
