Secure sign up page!

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but signing up for any services here, giving your user name and password, is not a secure page! I used sign in info completely different from my others since it is not secure. (Just what I need ANOTHER user ame and password!)

All pages requiring user name and passwords should be secured!

When I first signed up here last year I never used to see that ...now I see it every once in awhile. But I used a different password for this site, and I check the little box to keep me logged in so I haven't had to sign in for a really long time

Even if I get the annoying little popup, I sign in anyway, no problems so far.

That does work, but I get a popup warning about allowing secure and insecure objects to be shown. If I click OK I get the same unsecure page, I have to choose no to get a secured padlocked page.

Why is a sign page, that has the potential to cause you grief if someone gets your password, not just automatically a secure sign in? Why do I have to click 3 times and wait if I do not want to share a password with the world?

If it is available, why not make it default?
