Donna, cut her a little slack. This advice is impeccable but come on, even you didn't know that this info was available like it is.

I like what I've seen of Sellathon and I plan on signing up at some point. But that doesn't mean that I don't find this tactic of theirs a little unsettling.

Rick,

My preferences are always the very first thing I do no matter what service I sign up for or software I use. So I wouldn't have known this person didn't set their preferences up.

I tried to help as best I could. I even took the time to email Sellathon myself with a customer help ticket with a link back to this thread in order to hopefully get an answer for the customer plus leaving the phone number on the board and more.

Thanks to the new person with Auctiva who knew that the stats that were there being seen...was actually due to preferences not being set up.

For future reference for all others..ALWAYS set up preferences FIRST. 99.9% of the services that I've been with or software that I have begins with default preferences..and who would want those?

I still stand by all of my advice and all of my words are unedited, too.

Never just click a box and assume that the item you're voluntarially ok'ing to be put in your auctions is one you haven't investigated.

I'm sure you now see it as not a tactic by Sellathon.

It's a reputable third party service which has been around for quite sometime. I've used it off and on during the busier selling times with eBay since well, it's been a minimum 3 years.

If I thought that in any way this third party service would do a disservice to anyone I wouldn't recommend it. There's no hostage situation with tactics being used by Sellathon. It's a paid service or it's a free service. With the paid service you receive ALOT of killer information, with the free part of the service you receive less.

For those that are just now clicking into this and don't know about Sellathon..here's the link.

This was not a paid announcement,
Donna
